Biz groups unite to promote Cebu
For the first time in recent years, two big business organizations in Cebu will work together to hoist Cebu on top of the list of global travelers as a total leisure and business destination.
PhilExport-Cebu and Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) are now starting to initiate joint effort programs to maximize Cebu’s wealth in tourism and business.

PhilExport-Cebu president Jay Yuvallos said that a series of programs will be launched by CCCI and PhilExport in the next few years, helping Cebu’s economy thrive amid threats of a global economic recession, by starting a good marketing conceptualization, making Cebu one of the top world’s destinations in business and leisure in the next 10 years.
“We have a great lifestyle [environment] that mega cities can not afford to offer,” said Yuvallos, referring to the diverse tourism and business related offerings from six-star accommodation of boutique Resort Abaca, to the down-to-earth and adventure dining stall called “Larsian.”Cebu’s export sector, which is largely known for its high-end furniture and fashion accessory products, could become a tourism comeon already and partnering with CCCI would boost the latter’s bid to promote tourism, with emphasis on offering the impressive health and wellness component in Cebu. —Ehda M.
