Bloggers Meet Forrest Gump at Bubba Gump, Trinoma
A kick-off from the movie “Forrest Gump” – this is how Forrest and Bubba would build their restaurant: fun, relaxed, and with room for the whole family to enjoy fresh high quality shrimp, fish, ribs, and yummy desserts!
Last Tuesday, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., invited bloggers to meet and have lunch with Forrest Gump at their Trinoma branch. This event is a kicked off to Bubba Gump Trinoma first year anniversary. Not only were the bloggers present but also a local news network was invited to feature it on their late night news.
Bubba Gump was based on one of the famous Hollywood movie of all time “Forrest Gump” which stars Tom Hanks. This was the first and only casual restaurant chain based on a motion picture property as stated in the company’s press kit. Bubba Gump’s main specialties are shrimp shrimp and more shrimp that are cooked in various ways. But not only do they offer shrimps but now that they are celebrating their 1st year anniversary they are offering new and exciting dishes! That we got to taste. What could I say? All this exciting new dishes are so scrumptious.
FRESH CATCH SPECIALS – a whole new section featuring fish that’s prepared fresh and not frozen, like the Mediterranean Trevally (Talakitok). It is a fresh Trevally pan-seared with grape tomatoes, kalamata olives, herbs and capers. The all new Fresh Red Snapper (Maya-maya) with Mayan Salsa is really yummy. It is a fresh red snapper pan-seared and seasoned, topped with their fresh Mayan Salsa of tomatoes, onions, chillies, garlic, avocado, fresh lime juice and their Cilantro and Mole infused oils. This is served over Jasmine rice too. They also have this new exciting Surgeon Fish (Labahita) with Mango Pineapple Salsa and one of my favorite the Fresh Cajun Pompano with Mayan Salsa & Shrimp. This is a grilled fresh Cajun pompano and grilled shrimp placed over a bed of jasmine rice. Served with salsa fresca. This is 2 thumbs up in my opinion.
Aside from that they also treated as with a Dynamite Shrimp appetizer. It’s a shrimp poppers cracklin’ hot with a spicy Asian glaze. Grilled Shrimp Salad with Garlic-Cilantro Dressing and their new Bubba’s Shrimp Special: Spicy Jambalaya Pasta. I love this one; it’s a shrimp and spicy andouillu sausage over linguini with bourbon street tomato sauce. It’s so delicious and you won’t even notice that it’s spicy.
That Chocolate Thing
Lastly, who could forget the “That Chocolate Thing“? I know I didn’t. It’s simply delicious. Its special jar of warm flourless chocolate cake, topped with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream, and drizzled with a raspberry sauce. And they’re right; now, I keep craving and saying “I have to have that Chocolate Thing!” So yummy.

hi lagawan! Hmmm. the ttitle caught my attention.. it was a very beautiful movie that i happen to see 3 weeks ago and i loved it! i know it is a bit late to see this film but the story was amazing and the actor is great!
At least, the business of forrest and bubba came true, right? And it is celebrating its anniv nnow.. wow naman!
