Aliwan Fiesta 2009 Schedule
Get ready to experience the Country’s Grandest, biggest and most colourful event this summer as Manila will once again host the 7th Aliwan Fiesta.
This year, the Aliwan 2009 is slated on April 23-25. It’s a 3-day fiesta featuring the Philippines biggest and most colourful festivals. Various activities are lined up during the said festivity. The fiesta is made up of 3 parts, the Reyna ng Aliwan Beauty Pageant held at the Aliw Theater, the Float Competition which is one of the most important part of the fiesta for the participants are only allowed to use locally produced flowers, textiles, handicrafts and other products available in their regions to be decorated on their floats. And also one of the main highlight is the grand street dance competition of the various Festivals in the country to be held on April 25. The street dance parade usually starts at the Quirino Grandstand and will end at the Aliw Theater.
So what are you waiting for? Saved the date on April 23-25 to witness the excitement as the Country’s colourful festivals battle it out to become the Best Festival of the Philippines.

THE ILOILO PARAW REGATTA FESTIVAL OF ILOILO CITY WILL BE JOINING THE 2009 ALIWAN FIESTA. IT WILL BE SENDING THE “GRUPO DEL OESTE,” THIS YEAR’S “SAMBA SANG PARAW REGATTA” CHAMPION FOR STREETDANCING. FOR THIS YEAR IT WILL GRACE THE 2009 ALIWAN FIEST AS A GUEST PERFORMER BUT HOPEFULLY IT WILL A REGULAR COMPETING GROUP NEXT YEAR!
MISS ANN RENCY CUSTODIO, THE REIGNING MISS ILOILO PARAW REGATTA 2009 SHALL ALSO COMPETE FOR THE REYNA NG ALIWAN

It’s really nice to know that Paraw Regatta Festival of Iloilo will grace the 2009 aliwan. Hope that it will be a regular contngent next year

This event should also be aired on TFC (The Filipino Channel)since majority of the Overseas Filipinos around the world made some subscriptions to this network. Through this, the event will become more popular and well-known to the filipinos and perhaps also their foreign friends, and they would have a drive to return back home every year to grace and watch the event.

Dinagyang is definitely the best when it comes to choreography and the over-all aesthetics quality but then for the last 3 years, sinulog has been winning the aliwan competition. even the crowd love dinagyang so much. i hate to think of this but is it because the sec. of tourism is a cebuano and perhaps he influences the decision of the jury or by score, the dinagyang contigent really wins the prize but we do not know whats going on backstage? is there such thing as score switching?

el niño: I don’t think it’s because of the Sec. of tourism being a cebuano. they have a lot of judges for the aliwan not just the sec of tourism.
I’m not really sure if there’s a thing as score switching in this one. I really hope so

Akala ko the best festival itong Dinagyang ng Iloilo hanggang ngayon hindi pa nakuha ang champion, buti pa ang Pintados de Passi first time sumali nakuha agad.

arriana@ ano ang dapat namin eh watchout sa sinulog ha ha ha ang repeat performances ng lumad ha ha ha Pag ILOILO may Caliber yan at mahigpit ang labanan sa Dinagyang na mga contenders at may Quality pa. Tapus na ang result No.10 lang ang siloy mo?

Saludo talaga ako sa DINAGYANG ng ILOILO, very consistent at may Kalidad talaga ang Festival. Mabuhay ang Iloilo Contingents all World Class performance and Worth as the Best Festival Capital mof the Philippines.

FYI TITO LIM:
Iloilo Dinagyang had been the 2004 Aliwan Festival Champion,(that was the 2nd year of aliwan) and a consistent top 3 winner since the Aliwan Festival started. Even though Dinagyang Festival is not the champion, still Dinagyang continue to capture the hearts of the viewers and remain the CROWD CHAMPION!
Go DINAGYANG FESTIVAL! The Philippine BEST Tourism Event for 3 consecutive years.
