Hong Kong the Second Time Around
It was just recently when I had the chance to visit Hong kong the second time for 4 days/ 3 nights stay with my brother, 2 cousins and a friend. We arrived in Hong Kong around 7:15AM and Hongkong looked dark and dreary. I kept wishing that it would not rain during our brief stay but to no such luck. Anyways, aside from the dark and dreary atmosphere, Hongkong is an amazing place! It’s a place where East meet West.

The Peak HongKong by Night*
It was around 8:00Am when we finished with the Immigration and baggage collection, so we went straight to A11 for Holiday World Tour Agency since we booked our hotel reservations with them. Then Jackie (tour guide) offered us a discounted Ocean Park, Disney, Hongkong by Night tour. But since I’d been to Ocean Park and I saw Hongkong by night on my first visit here, I decided to just buy the discounted Disney ticket, same with my brother and cousin. While my friend and Sweet opted to join the Ocean Park tour. Since we are early for check-in we decided to have our lunch at Burger King Airport (yes, you heard it right-Burger King Hongkong and not the usual McDonald’s). After that we went directly to Shamrock Hotel.
After we check-in we roamed around the hotel’s vicinity for restaurants but we ended up eating at McDonald’s – toink! Then went window shopping and had our nap since we didn’t sleep the night before.
Then around 4PM we were fetched by Hang to go to the Peak. And the best way to get up to the summit of Hong kong Island (the Peak) is via the Peak Tram. It’s the only way to experience the beauty of Hong Kong’s natural wonder. It also offers spectacular view of the vibrant city, from the stunning skyline to the serene landscape. Peak Tram is a funicular railway that rides up the 373-metre steep incline of the Peak’s mountainside and it has been operating for more than 100 years.
After the PEAK we went to Mong Kok, Kowloon to experience the “real” Hong kong! It was a Sunday evening so MongKok was really busy and crowded. We went around Mong kok Street market then decided to try what Hong Kong has to offer, so we went off to search for the best place to eat. And after a long walk we stumbled on a restaurant on the far right of 2nd street and decided to have our dinner there. And to our amazement the food were really delicious and I would recommend it to everyone if I only know the name of the place – sorry! It’s all Chinese characters. The wanton soup was really sumptuous as well as their Szechuan spicy chicken. Two thumbs up for them!

After Mong Kok, off to Shamrock Hotel. End of day 1
