Day 3 in Hongkong: Disneyland

Saturday, 12 September 2009, 0:33 | Category : International Travel

After a tiring day in Macau and 3 movies from a Chinese channel, I was able to sleep around 4:00AM and woke up 4 hours later for another fun-filled day. I was so excited for today’s itinerary for I’ve been dreaming about it since I was in kindergarten. Yes! You heard it right, since I was in kindergarten. Who never dream and wish even once in going to DISNEYLAND? Anyways, we had our breakfast at the hotel restaurant around 8:30 then prepared for our trip.

It was so hot and sticky on our third day in Hong Kong that even though I really want to go to Disneyland I’m having second thoughts and just want to stay in the hotel the whole day. But, no way José! will that happen. This is one of my childhood dreams coming true, so off we went. We rode the MTR going to Leu King, change train going to Sunny bay and then boarded the Disney MTR.

Hong Kong Disneyland is located on Lantau Island just 20 minutes away from Hong Kong International Airport and is 30 minutes away from the Central MTR station. Hong Kong Disneyland offers a world class, unique family entertainment experience for everyone. It’s like your leaving your childhood dreams :D

During our visit, there was a Lilo and Stitch Summer Dance party but we didn’t have the chance to join them in the street for we were busy looking for Mickey Mouse and the other Disney Characters at the Fantasyland. When we saw Minnie Mouse and Mickey in Fantasy Gardens we tried to fall in line but unfortunately we didn’t have a chance to take a photo with them for they cut the line short to give the characters time to rest. It was a bit sad for I was really looking forward to having the chance to have a photo op with Mickey. But anyways, I had a photo taken with Donald Duck even though I’m not a huge fan of him. At least I have one, right?

After Donald we went inside Mickey’s PhilharMagic 3D Show where Donald Duck was up in mischief and touched Mickey’s orchestra even though he wass told not to do it. Donald will be running after the instruments and will be getting into a lot of trouble and meeting different Disney characters along the way. It was an amazing show especially the 3D effects. You will feel like you’re the one chasing the instruments and it felt like you could reach out and touch the instruments and the stones when Ariel song part of your world. I also like the magic carpet ride, especially when they fell down. It felt like you’re in a bungee jump with all this sound and air effects. Well, at some part of the show you will be squirted with water and air effects too. It was really a great experience.

Then we went inside It’s the Small World. It was really an amazing ride with all of this beautiful, colorful and creative costumed dolls sing “It’s a small world” in different language and culture. Its two thumbs up for me. It was really an imaginative journey around the world.

After that we had our dinner at the park’s restaurant. Then more photo op and sightseeing then off to Sleeping Beauty Castle for the Hong Kong Disneyland Disney in the Stars Fireworks. It was a wonderful and lovely firework show. If you are planning on visiting Hong Kong Disneyland surely you don’t want to miss this grand finale and the ohhhss, wows and ahhhs of everyone. It’s really a must to see this one.

Well, that’s the end of our third day in Hong Kong but I could say that even though we’re exhausted it’s still worth it. I could do it over and over again. I love Disneyland!
