Where to Dine in Bacolod
Masskara Festival highlights is just 4 days away and I know many tourist will flock the street of Bacolod to witness this grand and colorful event. Well, that’s not the only thing Bacolod can be proud of, for the food in this place is truly delicious and one of the best in the country, Not only that, they come fresh and cheap. So for a uniquely Ilonggo dining experience here’s a list of “must try/dine” in Bacolod.
1. Manukan Country – where you could find Bacolod’s pride – the INASAL. Manukan country is a row of stalls offering the mouth-watering Inasal (grilled chicken) and is located in the reclamation area. And I would recommend the stall of “Nena Rose” – they rock!. You could also eat in Chicken Deli or Bacolod Chicken House for a resto atmosphere – both have great inasals too.
2. Pala-Pala – where you could find the freshest seafood in the city. All you need to do is buy what you want from fresh fishes, shrimps. crabs, squids, mussels and other seafood you want in the wet market then have it cooked in one of the stalls there. The eatery will cook it whether you want grilled, tinola, sinigang, sizzling or sweet and sour. In short it all depends on what you want.
3. Aboy’s Kamalig, Imay’s, Ting-Ting’s & Buto’t Balat – this restaurants offer Filipino cuisine. They also offer fresh seafood.
4. Bob’s – one of our (friends&me) favorite dining place in college. Bob’s has the best and delicious Sati Babi in town.
5. Lord Byron’s – this resto have the best back ribs in town. It’s sumptuous in every way – very tasty and oh so tender. The price is really affordable – Php 99 per slice. It’s worth every penny. I’ll diffenitely recommend it
6. 21 Bar Restaurant – it’s an upscale resto in Bacolod that also offer Filipino cuisine. Their batchoy is really good!

7. Cafe Uma / Traturia Uma – it’s an upscale Cafe/restaurant in Bacolod, with prices a bit expensive for Bacolod standard but they have a huge servings anyways. The pizza and pasta here are really delicious esp. the Limoncello Shrimp pasta – one of my favorite. And it’s a great place to relax and unwind with friends.
8. Pendy’s - fine dining on a budget, that’s Pendy’s. They offer Filipino cuisine and they have a really delicious dinuguan. Aside from that, I love their Half Moon too!
9. Calea – The best pastry shop in the country, hands down to it
All their cakes and pastries are really delicious. And one of my favorite is their yummy Chocolate cake. Their cheesecake is also yummy. One should not miss this when in Bacolod.
10. Pietro Kaffe / Kuppa - Pietro offers the best Lavazza coffee in town and their pizza is good too. Kuppa also have great coffee and desserts. I love their sans rival!
