Before anything else, I would like to thank everyone who joined my Who wants a Havaianas Flip-flops contest – Favorite Travel Photo. Kudos to you guys!

Aside from that, I would also like to thank Noelle, JM and Gerard for helping me picked the winner for this contest. It was tough picking just one entry and I don’t want to be bias so I asked their help just to make sure it’s credible :D

So here’s the entries and the winner for Lagawan’s early Anniversary contest (anniv date oct 24):

The first to submit an entry (or should I say entries?) was Nicely – I Love Palawan. The Photo was taken in Kayangan Lake, Palawan.

I so so love this picture in Kayangan Lake because it looks very candid. My trip to Coron was really memorable because it was the first time I traveled without a chaperone, though I had a friend with me (Hi, Mich!). We stayed in Kokusnuss Resort and for two days, we tripped all over Coron, including the Twin Lagoon, Banol Beach, Kayangan and Barracuda Lakes, Maquinit Hotspring and Mt. Tapyas. The island hopping, swimming and hiking activities were tiring but it was totally fun. ~ Nicely

And here’s her other Favorite Photo taken in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte

Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte is one of my favorite places in the Philippines. Its almost-white sand, clear water, luscious greeneries, wonderful tourist spots and warm people made my Ilocos adventure more memorable.

In this photo, I am solely enjoying the splash of waves on my feet while walking my way to the wilderness. Travel buddy, Mich, took this shot and I congratulate her for a job well done. We spent straight nine hours in a bus ride all the way from Manila to Pagudpud but the exhausting and tiring journey was all swiped out upon seeing the wonders of this haven. ~ Nicely

The last one to submit her favorite travel photo was Abbie.

Photobucket

This photo was not taken by me. It was actually taken by a friend who shared my passion for photography. This photo has become my logo for my website discoveringpinas.com. This photo is very memorable to me because it was my first time to travel alone without parents or friends. I’ve never traveled alone before and this trip became an adventure for me. I just met this old friend through a social-networking site and invited me to go to Camiguin Island for the holy week. I never had any second thoughts on what may happen on my trip or if my parents will get mad at me for this decision. I thought that I was on the right age to travel alone and do what I really want in my life and that is to visit new places and discover historical facts. I was really fascinated with the island. The stories about Mt. Hibok-Hibok and the sunken cemetery awakened my curiosity for historical facts. So I practically used most of my month’s salary for this trip which was a big deal because I was getting a real big sum of money back then. As I look back and think of what I did, I’d still use all my money for that trip. Man, Camiguin has a mystical charm on me. ~ Abbie

and some of my travel buddies also joined the contest. Like Monique who submitted her favorite photo that she took on our last tour in Singapore/Malaysia.

I ‘ve been wanting to see Petronas Tower after watching the movie “ENTRAPMENT” by Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta-Jones. So when I earned enough money for my travel abroad, I made sure that I would visit Petronas Tower as one of my destinations.

The 88-storey Petronas Twin Towers is something I couldn’t get enough of looking at the building. I love it’s unique architecture. I was so lucky that I had the chance to see Petronas Twin Towers for real. ~ Monique

and Meei, another travel buddy who submitted a photo she took on our Ilocos tour.

I’ve experienced all the first time on that trip. Riding a bus for eleven hours without delay. First step in Vigan, Ilocos Sur at five o’clock in the morning. Two hours of sleep after 6 years! I also ate Vigan Empanda for the first time. I rode a Calesa which I never did when I’m in fact residing near the capital city of the country (what the?!). My first time ever to ride on a plane. *Woot!* ~ Mee-i

and the winner is…..

tan ta ran….

.

Nicely for her Anawangin Cove Getaway.

A trip to Anawangin Cove, San Antonio, Zambales was a dream come true, but I never imagined it would be possible with Yobs. Yobs is a very special friend and being with him at Anawangin, enjoying the cool breeze, the wonderful scenery, the beach, the boat ride, the agujo trees, the sand, the rain (it was indeed rainy because of a typhoon), the tent, the delightful food and his officemates’ company, was really unforgettable. ~Nicely

Once again, thank you everyone for joining Lagawan’s anniversary contest. Until the next contest guys! To the winner please email me your complete name and address at amecabalo[at]lagawan.info and Congratulations!!!
