The 2009 Masskara Festival Winners
The 2009 Masskara Festival has already concluded and I could say that it was a success. But unlike the previous years of the festival, this year only a few barangays, schools and companies joined the street dance competition. Still everyone was having a great time for thousands of tourist, both from local and international, flocked the street of Bacolod to witness the most colorful festival of the Philippines.
Well, Barangay Taculing was named the 2009 Masskara Festival Street Dance Champion last night for open category and last Saturday for the barangay category at Bacolod Public Plaza. Not only that, they also bagged the “Best in Costume” and “Best Choreography” awards in both category as well.
Barangay Mandalagan was named 2nd runner up and “Best in Mask” award in the open & Barangay category. While Barangay 23 bagged the 3rd runner up for the open category last night and Barangay Bata for the Barangay category Saturday night.
